Murray Ince was born on the Isle of Wight. The son of a Shipwright, he began to develop an interest in art at an early age and went on to gain numerous qualifications in various artistic mediums and teaching.

Murray used the knowledge gained from his apprenticeship with his father to become a furniture designer and maker. This has seen him work on a massively diverse range of creative jobs including being employed as a set builder at the Theatre Royal in Windsor.

Recently Murray discovered that his four times Great Uncle was one Joseph Murray Ince, a Victorian water-colourist from Presteigne in Wales, who studied under David Cox. Joseph’s works can be seen at The Tate, The Victoria and Albert, The Fitzwilliam in Cambridge and in many other galleries around the world.

Murray has 17 years experience of fine art tuition. He also demonstrates and teaches for art societies and groups. Murray has won the 2016 ‘Light Space and Time’s’ sixth annual international landscape painting competition. More recently he has been awarded 1st place in the ‘Light, Space and Time’ on-line gallery’s Landscape Artist of the Year 2019 and he is also a Palm Art 2019 Nominee.
